Chest

For the chest, lay the shirt flat and measure 1” (2.5cm) down from the armpit from armpit to armpit. The measurements begin and end at the fabric, not the seams. The double the figure to get your chest size i.e. 42” (Large) , this is different for shirts and T-shirts which are more close fitting. Over-shirts and jackets tend to be larger i.e for a large it is around 45” to accommodate other layers such as shirts and pullovers.
